Quantum Software Consortium

QSC Junior day

On the 13th of December we will be organizing the first QSC junior day for PhD students and Postdocs researching quantum computing within the Netherlands.

We believe that more interaction/entanglement between the different partners of the Quantum Software Consortium is a good thing. Therefore we are organizing a day specifically for the junior researchers (PhD or PostDoc) of the Quantum Software Consortium. Of course all the junior researchers that are interested in quantum computing are welcome, not just those affiliated with the QSC.

The reason we target the junior staff explicitly is twofold. On the one hand the junior staff is currently barely involved with the QSC. On the other hand we believe that an event without the senior staff has a different atmosphere, lowering the barrier to participation.

The schedule for Friday the 13th will be as follows: (UPDATED)

10:30-11:00 Welcome and coffee(/tea)
11:00-12:00 Jonas Helsen (Google’s experiment)
12:00-13:00 Lunch
13:00-14:00 Christian Majenz (Quantum Money)
14:00-15:00 Workshop (topic is a surprise)
15:00-15:30 Coffee break
15:30-17:00 10-minute lightning talks (still spots available!)
17:00-???? Networking with drinks and pizza (with the possibility of giving a 1-slide talk)

The 10-minute lightning talks can be on any topic related to research, for example: ongoing research, open questions, recent work by you, or a discussion of a recent result by others.

The 1-slide talks can be less formal, the only restriction is that you only get 1 slide (and a reasonable amount of time).

The day will take place on Science park in Amsterdam and will be hosted by QuSoft at cafe Polder.

You have to register before the 8th of December!
