NMC-2023 has an inspiring and varied program, which you can find on https://mathematischcongres.nl/.

Ronald de Wolf will organise a QSC session at NMC'23 with three speakers:

• Gayane Vardoyan, QuTech, TU Delft

Developing a Framework for Quantum Network Utility Maximization

• Lisa Kohl, CWI, Amsterdam:

Secure computation with silent preprocessing from learning parity with noise

• Casper Gyurik, LIACS, University Leiden

Quantum algorithms and the homology problem

Keynote speakers are among others:
• Éva Tardos (Cornell University), who will be awarded the Brouwer Medal, the most prestigious mathematics prize in The Netherlands,
• Eva Miranda (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya),
• Kavita Ramanan (Brown University) and

The poster session will have a competitive character. A jury will assess the posters and award three prizes: 300, 200 and 100 € for the best, one-but-best and second-best poster. The prizes will be awarded during the closing ceremony of NMC 2023. The deadline for submitting posters is 13 March 2023>> More information

Call for KWG PhD Prize 2023

Every year, the Dutch Royal Mathematical Society (KWG) invites several PhD candidates to present their research at the Netherlands Mathematical Congress (NMC). A jury of mathematicians from various fields chooses a winner, who receives besides the prestige of winning, an exchange trophy and a monetary reward of 1000 euro made available by the Foundation Compositio Mathematica. This year the jury will be chaired by Prof. Martin van Gijzen (TU Delft).

The PhD prize competition is open to PhD candidates in mathematics from all universities in the Netherlands, provided their thesis defense date is after February 28th 2023. The deadline for proposals is Wednesday, 1 March 2023. In order to enter the competition, please read the attached document.
